Gotta admit I'm puzzled by the lack of thumbs upiness for today's toon. I figured it'd be a winner in the eyes of Nicky's fans. Sure took a good bit of work. Most perplexing.

well, the problem is that you’ve decided to go all J.J. Abrams and reboot that which didn’t require rebooting. Heck, it didn’t even require color. In my opinion, all that was required was perhaps more long-form stories (crossing over a week or more strips) rather than being more of a gag-a-day type of comic. The webcomics I follow besides Nickyitis tend to be like this: Kevin and Kell, Girls With Slingshots, El Goonish Shive, Freefall, Wapsi Square. I also follow Girl Genius as well, but it’s in a different category since it’s a serialization of a very long-form graphic novel.
I agree about the storyline length – that’s one of the key things I planned to alter.
I disagree, the humor is the same, just a bit of a shift in the universe. It is just as good as ever.

An editor at a newspaper I once worked for told a story about a jazz radio operator who would only play the same 10 songs each night, versus a jazz radio operator who was always playing these newly discovered things and switching things up. The first guy got more listens. Why?
People like what they’re familiar with. You get a special joy when a song you recognize comes on; when a character you love goes through something neat.
That’s why it’s hard to accept this ‘new sisters’ and new colors and new reboot and everything. We were already in love, and then you decided our lady needed a makeover. And now she’s got blue hair?
Well, it’s kinda like coming home to find someone has rearranged all the funiture. It’s kind of disturbing/disruptive. But I do enjoy your sense of humor- I’ll adjust.

I can’t actually find the reboot comics anymore. I actually rather liked them.
They’ve been removed until a full and sustained rebooting occurs.
