I just take advantage of the prices and buy myself some cheap candy to munch on. Even if it’s not free, it’s still more candy than the average trick-or-treater.
I agree with most of the comic today except for the last panel. *stares at year old tootsie roll bag I’m currently eating from* Tootsie rolls take a lot longer to get hard.
Not so much Easter and Christmas since I’ll actually have something to occupy me (from little cousins to watch or small Easter gifts like bamboo), but pretty much yeah.
Best thing after halloween–cheaper costumes! When I finish medical school, I’m going to start dressing up as different things for kids! Imma be Doctor Princess Leia, Doctor Captain America, Doctor Spiderman/woman–so many cool stuffs. “Luke, I am your doctor”–really wanna say that to some kid someday. XD
Think of it as a toffee that is chocolate flavored.
A US made confection BUT supposedly available in the UK but the prices seem crazy.
Are sweets really that expensive in the UK?
A 6-chunk Cadbury’s chocolate bar is about 50p (please tell me you have Cadbury’s over there D:) so I guess that’s like…40 cents? I’m not sure of the difference between pound and dollar. If chocolate doesn’t count as a sweet then I don’t know, I eat way more chocolate than I do Haribos or whatnot.
I just checked the currency converter – gotta love the net for some actual useful stuff sometimes – 50p is C$0.62. So that Cadbury bar is way cheaper there than here. Ours are over $1.25 if not more. I miss when Cadbury had those great Christmas assortment boxes.

I got free bags of hard candy once due to an online coupon that I printed. I then kept the candy for the trick-or-treaters coming to my door. But they never came! The days of door-to-door begging for candy are long gone, it seems. I finally wound up giving the candy away to some friends.
The scary thing is the stores do the same thing. Well, if you’ll consider shoved to the back of the storeroom “burying”.
hahhahaahahah
loved this one

Same with Easter and Christmas, isn’t it? No time of year to get better prices for candy than just after these holidays.

“It’s the most
wonderful time
of the year~!”
Tootsie rolls are a bad idea– most of the mini candy bars will last with no real change.

This also acts as an effective deterrent for trick-or-treaters.
Living in the UK, I still have yet to learn what the heck a tootie roll is ._.
