ZELDA – the Dungeons – no save feature – made those gauntlets frustrating to the max since you had to keep repeating them till you actually made it through the last room / obstacle. That was one of the main reasons I just gave up on SNES “adventure” games.

I think emulators were inferred, and those have save states.
The only thing worse is when your right there and someone turns to console off and laughs in you face. Happened to me a lot growing up.
