I need my space

Helloooo Nickyitis fans! It's getting toward the end of summer and I want to clear out some space in my closet. So it's time for a sale. Nickyitis slows down

Hi ho, Nickyitis fans. As you can see, there's no Nickyitis crowtoon today, the reason being that as of July 4th I'm slowing Nickyitis down to two crowtoons a week. Monday and Friday. Monday, to make the start of a new week easier and Friday to joyfully welcome the weekend.

How come? Well, there are a few reasons. First off, Nickyitis toons take me MUCH longer to create than my ChuckleADucks (although with the ever increasing artsiness of the CAD toons this gap is narrowing). I've got finite time to get a bunch of things done and Nickyitis consumes a lot of it. And it's a proven fact that ChuckleADuck is more easily accessible to new readers, which means that when I advertise I see a much bigger bang for the buck over at ChuckleADuck than at Nickyitis. Right now Nickyitis supplies, at best, twenty percent of the total revenue that my work brings in. It has become more and more difficulty to justify spending the majority of my cartooning time for something that, although beloved by its fans (and me!), doesn't do much in generating the income needed to keep my cartooning boat afloat. 

Rest assured that, at least for now, I'm not trying to kick my Nickyitis habit. Just reducing the intensity. See you on Friday!

C’mon out!

So we've heard the kids and even seen a peek of one. Today we go further. First up is a video of mom in the tree. Or, rather, the tree. Mom's not too visible. That's okay because the point of the video is so that you can hear what an adult Nuttall's woodpecker sounds like. This way you can tell when one's around your neighborhood! So just click and you'll hear the distinctive trilling chi-chi-chi-chi of a Nuttall's.
